About

Welcome to Equine Redesign.

Equine Redesign was born out of a desire to create beautiful things for my two horses.  I wanted a level of personality and individuality that I could not find in the stores, and I wanted to make something for them that no-one else had.  I started with one piece of leather, one with a soft, interesting texture and a gorgeous sheen.  A few days later, I had built my first halter, for my boy Jupiter.

Other people at my barn saw it and asked me to make halters for them and their horses.  I realized that I really loved fashioning pieces that were beautiful, functional, sustainable and most of all, that reflected the personality of the horse and their owner.  Sometimes I make halters before I have an order, to see who will fall in love with them for their horse, but mostly, I know who I’m making it for.

When my sister Christa Miremadi designed a bitless noseband, named after her horse Carlotta (Carlotta was a member of our family for 16 years) I started making those too. I design them with the same vision of uniqueness and functionality, and a pride in making a tool for humans to communicate with their horses in a gentler way.
